Where The Wild Things Are

On Saturday before heading over to Devil’s Lake State Park’s Candlelight Hike, we took a trip over to Rock Springs to trick-or-treat with the big cats at the Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue.  It was not long before their parking lot was filled up and cars were lining up in a farm field across the way.  At the moment there is 27 big cats at the rescue including lions, tigers and one big black panther named Dozer.  It seems sort of odd to think these guys can’t find a home.  I mean, even the local zoo doesn’t have a big cat .

I won’t go too deeply into details about the shelter here.  You can visit their website at www.wisconsinbigcats.org and read the Baraboo News article about the event.  I’ll be working up more details for a future attraction feature before the summer season returns.  So keep an eye out for that as well.

The Big Cat rescue is open to the public on weekend only this time of year as long as the weather is nice. I certainly invite you to check it out.  It’s pretty amazing to have these big cats living so close by
