SCHS Pets of the Week

sampson-lngJust a reminder that each week here at the Skillet Creek Journal we put a focus on the Sauk County Humane Societies featured pets.  If we could we’d bring ‘em all home ourselves. Since we can’t do that of course, we join the Humane Society in asking if you may have room for one these guys who never asked to be in a shelter.  It seems to us that if more folks would adopt shelter animals instead of spending so much money on pure breeds and pet store puppies the world would be a better place.

Also, please note as well that the society has a variety events coming up.  May1st is the annual PAWS for a Cause &  May 15th society is hosting a lecturer who will speak on the link between animal abuse and domestic violence, and May31st is the 1st annual Putts for Pets Golf  Outing.  Mark your calendar and join in the fun!! Contact the shelter for more information or go to our website at www.saukhumane.org. So with that, I’ll let the society tell you about this weeks pets…

March 5th – Today we put our focus on the letter “S”, and proudly present Samson and Spike- both  are sure to meet with your approval!

spike-cat

Spike is an eleven year young, neutered male Siamese with  front declaw-he is one of THREE Siamese currently at the shelter.  Due to popular request, all of our neutered bachelor cats are temporarily half price-way less than what you would pay for the surgery alone. Neuter and Spay, it will make your pets day!

Samson is a young, Terrier mix-about a year old. (see picture above)  He is a love, full of youthful exuberance and charm. Scrappy little Samson is a work in progress and will require time, training and patience-but he is ready and willing to work toward his diploma.

To adopt one of these guys or for more information contact the Sauk County Humane Society @ (608) 356-2520 or visit their website at www.saukhumane.org
