The 47th Annual Badger Steam and Gas Show will be going on this weekend, August 20th, 21st & 22nd between Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells. This is Wisconsin’s largest display of early American steam and gas powered farm equipment. The show also includes a Flea Market, arts & crafts vendors, live music and of course lots of food! County Music performers, “Maggie Mae and Heartland County” will be providing live music at the even on Saturday beginning at 5:30 pm (Bring your own lawn chairs).
The Badger steam and Gas Show is a loud, smokey, boisterous affair that is usually a riot for kids. There are literally hundred’s of tractors and steam engines of every shape, color and size imaginable. The flea market and craft show draws a huge number of vendors which makes for a great time for folks who love to investigate and explore these wildly eclectic markets. This is certainly an event that can be tagged, “Fun for the whole family”. Just be prepared for sudden loud steam whistles!
Directions to the show can be a bit confusing so watch for the signs along highway 12. From highway 12 you’ll want to turn west on N. Reedsburg Rd., just north of the Baraboo-Dells airport, you’ll travel less than a mile before turning south on Sand Rd. Again, it’s usually well posted, but we have provided a map below as well.
