What is there to do around here during the winter months?  Well, the locals know that if you don’t get out, you’ll go crazy.  So if you’re not into winter sports yet and you plan to be in Wisconsin it’s time to take up a winter hobby.  In our area we have miles of cross country ski trails at both Devil’s Lake State Park and Mirror Lake State Park.  There are two Ski Resorts near by, Cascade Mountain & Devil’s Head Resorts, and miles and miles of snowmobile trails as well.  In addition hikers and Snowshoers are free to use the trails at the Merrimac Preserve & Rocky Arbor State Park, where you won’t risk trashing ski trails!  Even if you just want to get out the sled there are some great hills.  We recommend the one in the Quartzite Campground at Devil’s Lake State Park.
