Fair Weather

Did you enjoy the Sauk County Fair this year? By Sunday it was certainly looking as if the heat was taking it’s toll on attendance numbers, but thoes who did brave the heat seemed to be having fun. Over on our Facebook we asked our regulars what they thought of the fair & what they think of county fairs in general.  Do you still go to your county fair? Do the carneys drive you nuts?  Do you go watch the animal competitions or demo derbys?  Are rides too expensive? Are county fairs simply relics from a bygone era or are they still great family entertainment?  We’d love to hear your thoughts.  Join us!

Fair Sights

Despite the occasional evening rain shower the 2010 Sauk County Fair went off without a hitch.  We’ve put a little slide show together offering the sights of the midway from the quiet moments right after the gates open until the nights really get rockin’ under the colorful lights of the rides and attractions.  Um, did you see that monkey?

Summer in Full Swing

A bit of light rain did little to dampen the Baraboo fireworks display last evening.  For the most part the rain held off until well after midnight, allowing 4th of July parties to go on without interruption.  The summer fun will just keeping right on rolling this week as the Sauk County Fair kicks off  on Tuesday.  The fair will be held at the Sauk County Fairgrounds on the east side of Baraboo. The event begins tomorrow  July 6th, and will run through the 11th. Carnival rides begin 5 p.m. Tuesday and run evenings until 11 p.m. For more information about the Sauk County Fair click here.
